Stories at the intersection of queer identity, mental health, intersectional feminism, and playful experimentation.

About Me

Hi!

My name is Sammy Saiki, and I am junior at NYU, where I study Media, Culture, and Communications. I spend most of my time creating character-driven, queer, and awkwardly funny stories that live somewhere between intimacy and soft chaos. My work often pulls from my own experiences with OCD, mental health, and identity, blending humor with grounded emotional realism. I’m especially drawn to stories that center LGBTQ perspectives, intersectional feminism, and the tiny moments of connection that reveal who we are. As I continue writing and directing short films, I’m excited to grow my voice, explore more experimental approaches, and work within development spaces that champion fresh, honest storytelling.

Keep up with me here, where it’s heartfelt, it’s fun, and it’s basically my job application in disguise.

Sincerely,

Sammy “The Selectively Sharp” Saiki
